Marigot Bay

The completly sheltered habour attracts yachtsmen from all over the world, because of its spectacular and beautiful anchorage. Throughout history Marigot Bay was a favourite hideout among pirates and an important marine base for the european colonial empires.

The novelist James Michner described the Marigot Bay as "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean", and he was not the only one who was captivated by it. Due to its unspoilt nature the Marigot Bay served as perfect setting for movies such as Dr. Doolittle in 1967, Fire Power 1979, Superman II 1980, Water 1985, White Squall 1994 and Creature 1998.

Marigot Bay stands out because of its multicultural community, which has grown over the years, as couples on vacation (from the US, Canada and Europe) eventually settled here and became home and business owners.

The recently resurfaced highway makes the site just a 10 - 15 min drive south of Castries,
30 minutes to G. F. L. Charles Airport in Vigie/Castries and 90 minutes to the International Airport Hewanorra down south in Vieux Fort.

Take a journey through the history of rum with a complete distillery tour and a chance to sample some of the rums and liquers. An engaging and colourful 3D display will take you into the time when sugar cane was the main crop on the island and dictating peoples lives then.

Book a guided kayak tour on the Roseau River, amidst the Roseau plantations and discover the wildlife in the Roseau Valley.
